After many years of riding motorcycles and thinking I knew how to be safe, I became a Denver motorcycle cop and discovered the true meaning of riding well and staying safe on the road. My training took me through all levels of riding, with stringent testing every year. Now retired, I am bringing that knowledge and skill to teaching. I enjoy teaching others, learning more about my students, and especially mentoring new and experienced riders alike. By bringing the stress out of learning, my teaching technique has been said to decrease anxiety, empower, and calm students. I look forward to working with you and teaching you the true meaning of safety on the road.

I have been riding for 30+ years, and I enjoy every minute. I suppose you could call it my happy place. I want to share that same enjoyment of the sport, hobby, or whatever label you want to give it, with others.

Coaching is fun; it’s a way to give back and connect with others. It’s exciting to witness new riders find their ‘groove’ as their confidence grows and their skills develop.

The smiles are priceless...

I grew up loving computers and made a career out of teaching them. During that time, I realized how much I enjoyed teaching and seeing the lightbulb go off when a concept finally clicked with a student. I also enjoy riding motorcycles, and one of my riding buddies noticed how I was when explaining concepts to others. He suggested I look into becoming a motorcycle safety instructor. It took a few years of convincing, but I finally did it and love it! I love watching the look on a student’s face when they realize that they are doing something they weren’t sure they could do and they are enjoying it.

Motorcycles are an art in motion. There is a sensation of freedom as the wind and sound of the engine surround us while riding the open road. That same sense of freedom also carries risks that every rider should be prepared for. As an instructor, I am able to share my passion for motorcycles and coach riders to improve their skills, as well as safety strategies that will prepare them for the open road.
